Resurrect The Face?? | The New Blog Times
It was the flagship magazine of the 80s, the most in the marking trends, british fashion bible supercool and graphic design on paper and washable. I had to read The Face to be trendy and all publications of the era Spanish modelnas tried to imitate.
Its pages passed first fashion photographers who would become famous after posting on Vogue, as David LaChapelle, Inez Van Lamsweerde, Steven Klein, Norbert Schoerner, Glen Luchford, Craig McDean and Elaine Constantine. The strange thing is that never sold more than 80,000 copies.
After very bizarre vicissitudes, and an inevitable drop in pads, along the 90 attended their slow decline, until in May 2004 had to take the closure. In Wayback Machine can still visit his online file those last years.
In the UK we talk these days of Bauer Media, publisher of the ineffable FHM, among other titles "for men" - might be interested in the revival of the legendary brand. Date: 2010.
